Income in Reports, and splits that count

Reports could only ever tell you where your money went. It covers what comes in now, and what you keep.

Reports

  • Top Payees, Top Income Sources and Savings Rate join Net Worth and Spending by Category. Reports was entirely about spending before, so it could tell you where your money went and nothing about what you kept.
  • Transactions you have split now count. They were left out of your month totals, your category breakdown and your top lists, so a grocery run you split across two categories was missing from every report.
  • On iOS a split you tagged as income was counted twice over, added to your income and taken off your spending at the same time.

Payees

  • Payee names your bank sends in lowercase are cleaned up now, so "b&h photo" reads as B&H Photo. Short words no longer stay in capitals just for being short either, so SHELL OIL reads as Shell Oil while CVS and MTA are left alone.
  • The web cleans up payees the same way iOS does. It was showing them exactly as the bank sent them.

Syncing

  • Deleting something on one device now clears it from the rest. Before this it stayed on your other devices and kept counting toward your balances, with nothing that ever corrected it.
  • Duplicate pending transactions that get tidied up once your bank posts the real one no longer come back on a second device.

Polish

  • Bulk categorize comes to the web, which iOS has had for a while. Turn on select mode in your transactions list, tick the rows you want and set a category for all of them at once.
  • The web app opens sooner, installs to your home screen with the right icons, and no longer leaves the bank reconnection dot lit after you dismiss the banner.
  • Settings rows get colored icon tiles, Delete Category moved to the bottom of the category sheet, and deleting your account asks why first. Answering that is optional. Plus a handful of smaller fixes across iOS and web.
